PostHog Error Digest / aeon skill

Weekly PostHog error digest agent

Weekly cross-project error overview from PostHog - enumerates every project the OAuth grant covers, pulls the last 7 days of error-tracking issues per project, ranks them by impact, flags what's new vs ongoing, and sends one digest with per-project totals, the top issues, and a clickable link to a full committed report of every issue.

What it does

PostHog Error Digest is an aeon skill: Weekly cross-project error overview from PostHog - enumerates every project the OAuth grant covers, pulls the last 7 days of error-tracking issues per project, ranks them by impact, flags what's new vs ongoing, and sends one digest with per-project totals, the top issues, and a clickable link to a full committed report of every issue. Like every aeon skill it is one SKILL.md prompt file that runs unattended on your own GitHub Actions, on a schedule or when you trigger it, and sends what it finds to Telegram, Discord, Slack or email.

Give the operator a single, scannable overview of the errors across every one of their PostHog projects for the past week. The heavy lifting is the PostHog MCP server (mcp.posthog.com/mcp): it enumerates the projects and returns the error-tracking issues, so you reason over structured facts (occurrence counts, users affected, first/last-seen timestamps) instead of guessing. Your job is to fan out across projects, rank by impact, separate new from ongoing, and write the digest.

Input: the var setting

Every aeon skill takes one optional text input, var, set in aeon.yml or typed in when you run it by hand. It picks the target or the mode for that run.

Optional scope override. Empty (default) → all projects the OAuth grant covers, last 7 days. Accepts:

  • Nd - change the window, e.g. 14d or 30d (bare number also read as days).
  • a comma-list of project name substrings - e.g. web, api limits to projects whose name contains one of those (case-insensitive). Combine with a window: web, api, 14d.

This runs unattended - treat var as final, no confirmation step.

What it needs

Besides the model you connected to aeon, PostHog Error Digest uses the following. Add secrets as GitHub Actions secrets on your aeon repo, or in Aeon Connect.

  • posthog MCP server - required, connect it once from the dashboard MCP panel (OAuth)

Install and run it

Easiest: open Aeon Connect, sign in with GitHub and turn on PostHog Error Digest. No clone, no terminal. To add it to an existing aeon repo from a shell, run:

bin/add-skill aeonfun/aeon posthog-errors

Then switch it on in aeon.yml (the default schedule is filled in):

skills:
  posthog-errors: { enabled: true, schedule: "0 15 * * 1", var: "" }
