About aeon.

The most autonomous agent framework — open source, MIT licensed, and built in public.

aeon is an open-source framework for autonomous AI agents. You give it a direction and it leverages 59 skills to get the work done — running unattended on GitHub Actions, with self-healing loops, reactive triggers, and persistent memory. No approval loops. No babysitting.

What aeon is

Most agent tools are interactive — useful for hands-on work, less so for the long tail of recurring tasks: priority briefs, market monitoring, PR reviews, research digests, security scans. aeon owns that tail and runs it unattended. It is a Next.js dashboard plus a set of GitHub Actions workflows: fork the repo, run ./aeon, authenticate, pick your skills, and push. A public repository means unlimited free Actions minutes — you only pay for the model and API keys you connect.

How it works

Two files define your agent. SOUL.md carries your voice; STRATEGY.md carries your intent — one metric, a few priorities, the hard limits. Every skill reads both before it acts. Each run is scored 1–5 by Claude Haiku, and when a skill fails repeatedly aeon diagnoses and patches it on its own. Read the full architecture, browse the skill catalog, or see what one skill has already shipped on the security page.

Who builds it

aeon is created by Aaron Mars and developed in the open. The source lives on GitHub under the MIT license, and the project ships in public — follow along on X or in the changelog.

The company

aeon is maintained by AEON INC, registered in the British Virgin Islands (Keyway Chambers, 3rd Floor, Akara Building, Road Town, Tortola, VG1110). For anything else, see contact or reach us at aaron@aeon.fun.

Frequently asked

The short version — what aeon is, what it costs, and how to run it.

What is aeon?

aeon is an open-source, MIT-licensed framework for autonomous AI agents. You give it a direction and it leverages 59 skills to get the work done — running unattended on GitHub Actions with self-healing loops, reactive triggers, and persistent memory. No approval loops, no babysitting.

How is aeon different from other agent tools?

Most agent tools are interactive — they ask you to approve each tool call, review each diff, and confirm each action. aeon is a system you configure once and walk away from. It decides when to run, what to check, and when to bother you, and it owns the long tail of recurring work interactive agents rarely touch.

Is aeon free?

Yes. aeon is open source under the MIT license. Run it from a public GitHub repository for unlimited free Actions minutes — you only pay for the model and API keys you connect.

What do I need to run aeon?

A GitHub account and an Anthropic (Claude) key to start. aeon is a Next.js dashboard plus a set of GitHub Actions workflows: fork the repo, run ./aeon, authenticate, pick your skills, and push. Actions handles scheduling, execution, and notifications via Telegram, Discord, Slack, or Email.

What are skills?

Skills are the units of work aeon performs. Each is a SKILL.md file with a schedule and when-to-use guidance. aeon ships 59 skills across Core, Basics, Crypto & Markets, Dev & Code, Productivity, and Evolution — and it can write brand-new skills on demand when a goal needs data no existing skill collects.

Does aeon have a public API?

aeon is a framework you fork and run, not a hosted API service. Agents and developers integrate by forking the open-source repository, installing the aeonlaunch npm package, or building on the codebase directly — the unit of integration is a skill, not a REST endpoint.

What is $aeon?

$aeon is a fair-launched token on Base — no insider allocation and no unlocks. Protocol fees flow to the treasury and back into buybacks. Live treasury holdings and ownership over time are published on the transparency page.
