What it does
Cortx Reliability is an aeon skill: Check whether an x402 payment endpoint is reliably delivering value before spending USDC on it. Returns paid delivery rate, active incidents, latency, and a clear proceed/warn/block recommendation. Like every aeon skill it is one SKILL.md prompt file that runs unattended on your own GitHub Actions, on a schedule or when you trigger it, and sends what it finds to Telegram, Discord, Slack or email.
CORTX monitors x402 payment endpoints end-to-end - real USDC on Base mainnet, all 7 stages. This skill queries CORTX's free reliability API to tell you whether an endpoint is safe to pay before your agent spends anything.
The 7 stages CORTX checks:
- Availability
- Payment terms (402 response validity)
- Price check (amount within bounds)
- Payment signing (EIP-712, USDC contract, chain ID)
- Delivery (200 response after payment)
- JSON parse
- Schema validation
Stages 5-7 can fail after USDC has already left the wallet. This is why you check first.
Input: the var setting
Every aeon skill takes one optional text input, var, set in aeon.yml or typed in when you run it by hand. It picks the target or the mode for that run.
The x402 endpoint URL to check (e.g. https://api.example.com/premium). Required.
What it needs
No extra API keys or MCP servers. It runs on the model you connected to aeon (a Claude subscription token, an API key, or another login).
Install and run it
Easiest: open Aeon Connect, sign in with GitHub and turn on Cortx Reliability. No clone, no terminal. To add it to an existing aeon repo from a shell, run:
Then switch it on in aeon.yml (the default schedule is filled in):
